Forex, metals and indices — graded on the record

Foreign exchange is the largest market in the world and the least transparent to verify a claim in. There is no consolidated tape: every broker shows a slightly different price, so "EURUSD hit 1.0850" is a statement about someone’s feed rather than about the market. TradeLiveX handles that the only honest way available — by naming the feed. Every FX and metals call here is graded against ICMarketsSC-MT5-3 5-minute mid prices, and that venue is printed on each call page beside the outcome it produced, so the number that decided a call is always attributable to a specific book.

The session structure matters more here than anywhere else. FX closes around 21:00 UTC on Friday and reopens around 21:00 UTC on Sunday, and a call whose expiry lands inside that window cannot be marked out against a price that does not exist. TradeLiveX carries the expiry forward to the Sunday reopen and treats the intervening silence as an expected gap rather than missing data. The distinction is important: missing data inside an open session sends a call to manual review instead of producing a grade nobody should trust.

Weekend gaps are also where the symmetric gap rule earns its keep. If price reopens beyond a stop, the fill is the open — not the stop — and the loss is worse than 1R. Plenty of published track records quietly cap that downside while paying the full upside on a favourable gap. Doing both would systematically overstate every trader on the board, so TradeLiveX does neither.
